He began weight training in his youth and went on to become a world champion bodybuilder to be won many awards for his amazing body. He won the Mr. Universe title five times and Mr. Olympia title six times. He emigrated to the United States in the late 1960s.
Then a few small parts, Schwarzenegger won a Golden Globe Award as Best Newcomer for his performance in Stay Hungry (1976). He was also in Pumping Iron (1977), presented a bodybuilding documentary. With its intense physical strength and size, Schwarzenegger was a natural for action movies. He was a leading figure in several popular 1980s action films, including Conan the Barbarian (1982). Schwarzenegger also played as a death machine from the future in The Terminator (1984). The sci-fi drama, two sequels, Terminator 2 brought: Judgement Day (1991) and Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003).
