    George H.W. Bush Life,s Journey

Bush's father was a banker and senator. His mother, Dorothy Walker Bush, was the daughter of wealthy businessman and banker George Herbert Walker. Bush went to high school called Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, where he was early leader of the local baseball team.
In 1942 he joined the Navy, where he was a pilot on an aircraft carrier. He was, at that time, the youngest pilot ever. He distinguished himself in his job several times. Bush was shot down by the Japanese, but saved by the American submarine USS Finback.
After World War II, he studied at Yale, where he joined the fraternity Delta Kappa Epsilon (and the secret society Skull and Bones). On January 6, 1945 he married Barbara Pierce. Together they had six children, including George W. Bush and John (Jeb).
Bush got during the fifties of the twentieth century involved in the oil industry and put important contacts with the royal family of Saudi Arabia and the bin Laden family.

As the first political step of his work as Bush can be called CIA agent, which he began in 1959. He was also involved in the invasion Bay of Pigs in Cuba in 1961.
In 1964 he challenged Senator Ralph Yarborough in the Democratic and set up his campaign on his support for the Civil Rights Act, that any discrimination had to go. This law was in fact not at all popular with the Democrats, especially in the southern U.S. that voted predominantly Democratic. Yarborough was one of the few proponents of the law. Bush made the most of, but he lost.
In 1966 and 1968 he had more luck and he was elected as representative in the House of Representatives. In the Senate he was so lucky, because in 1970 he lost again, against Lloyd Bentsen.
Bush had now become active in many committees and was ambassador to the United Nations and Director of the CIA. According to a memo from J. Edgar Hoover in 1963 he worked for the CIA
When Ronald Reagan in 1980 was candidate for president, he chose George Bush over Gerald Ford as his running mate. Reagan was elected, and Bush became vice president of the United States. His office was renewed in 1984 when Reagan was reelected.

After two terms in office Reagan pushed the Republican George Bush emerged as their new candidate. Along with his running mate Dan Quayle was elected.
In 1990, conquered and occupied Iraq's neighbor Kuwait. Bush then organized an international coalition that liberated the country again (see Gulf War). Iraq was defeated, but Bush was not ready to drive it one of the government of Saddam Hussein to come. It was only his son George W. Bush, that Saddam Hussein would sell. In April 1993 the Kuwaiti authorities was an Iraqi attempt to murder Bush through a number of car bombs foiled. During the attack, the Iraqi Intelligence Service (Al-Mukhabarat Al-Jihaz A'ma) were involved. The attack, which killed 17 people were detained, was two months later by President Clinton answered by firing 23 cruise missiles at the headquarters of the Mukhabarat. Son George W. Bush called this incident in a campaign speech in September 2002 as a personal motivation for the United States, Saddam Hussein would be off with the words "After all this is the guy who tried to kill my dad at one time."
Accumulated in the Gulf War popularity of George Bush diminished as a result of the economic crisis. Despite the promise not to introduce new taxes ("Read my lips: no new taxes") were still new taxes. Partly because he did not get a second term.
Bush became involved in the Iran-Contra affair, in which the U.S. arms sales to Iran (at war with Iraq), whose profits were used for the anti-revolutionary Contras in Nicaragua to support, so the socialist government of the Sandinistas overthrew throwing.

George Bush suggested a candidate for a second term. He took it while up against Bill Clinton and his running mate Al Gore. Approximately one year before the elections appeared to Bush's success in the Gulf War to ensure that he would win the election easily, but the economic problems made him the tie and he lost the 1992 election with a clear difference of 168 to 370 electoral votes.
Bush left the public life, but still remained active as a former president. He is the only former president who exercises his right to CIA reports receiving end of his presidency.
